American culture is their ethnic food. This section includes several
different recipes taken from authentic Hispanic food. So take out
your maraccas, put on your ponchos, strap on that sombrero and get
Tacos de Frijoles or Bean Tacos What you kneed: 4 soft flour tortillas 454g. refried beans 200ml. taco sauce (mild or hot) 2 large tomatoes ,sliced 1 large avacado in slices 1 small can sour cream 200g.grated chedder or matured cheese Jalapeno Peppers, slices What to do: 1. Heat the refried beans in a saucepan on medium heat. Stir in 100ml. of taco sauce. Warm mixture gently for 5 minutes. 2. Warm each tortilla in a dry , preheated frying pan, a few seconds on each side. Transfer each warm tortilla (flat) to a plate. 3.Place one-two large spoonfuls of the warm bean mixture in the center of each warm tortilla. 4.Arrange tomatoe slices, avacado slices and grated cheese on one half of each open tortilla. Garnish with sour cream and remaining taco sauce. 5. Fold the tortilla in half as pictured, and garnish top with jalapeno slices. 6.Serve immediately and enjoy.
Spicy Chicken Tacos What You need: 12 Taco shells 2 cups cooked chicken, diced 1 spring onion, finely chopped 1/2 can Jalopeno cheese dip 1 can taco sauce shredded lettuce grated cheddar cheese sliced tomatoes 1 cup sour cream What to do: 1. Combine chicken, onion and cheese dip in a sauce pan. 2. Heat gently, stirring occasionally. 3. Warm taco shells and arrange on plate. 4. Spoon on chicken mixture when it bubbles. 5. Garnish with lettuce, cheese and tomato. 6. Top with taco sauce and sour cream.
What You Need: Burrito Style Tortillas Olive Oil 100g. creamed cottage cheese or 1 1/2 cups grated chedder cheese 2 tblspns cream 1 med. green pepper diced 1 can of jalopenos 1/2 chunky salsa or taco sauce Sour Cream What You Do: 1.Heat the tortillas breifly in a little olive oil in a pan 2.Remove from pan , dry with paper towels 3.Mix the cheese ,cream , peppers , Jalapenos together and add a little Chunky Salsa (not too much) 4.Divide equally and spread on each tortilla 5.Fold each tortilla and fasten with a toothpick 6.Fry lightly in a pan be careful they are fragile 7. Add salsa to side and sour cream on top 8. Enjoy
